Sexual assault support services provide direct services for children, young people and adults who are either recent or past victim/survivors of sexual assault. Services include crisis care responses, counselling, casework, group-work, advocacy and a statewide after-hours telephone service. Agencies also provide community awareness, education and professional consultation services that work towards the prevention and early identification of sexual assault. Some agencies also provide services for children and young people displaying sexually abusive behaviour. A range of support services can respond to the needs of recent and past victim/survivors of sexual assault.
